Today was supposed to local Vizag sight seeing. Got up early to catch the sunrise.
This is beach road in its full glory.
Set my tripod and waited for the sun. waited waited and was not to be entertained. There was clouds today so no sunrise watching today. Had to be content with early morning ambiance.
My well ventilated room.
I am off to explore vizag. Time for my bike to pose.
I thought of checking out the port side for morning session. went in search of port entrance to try my luch. But instead first ended up at fishing harbour. some fishing boats being handbuilt.
I enter the heart of fishing harbour right through the busy activity and admit i was really scared. I was like an alien there fully geared up with a big bike with panniers! Did not dare stopping and only ended getting deep into the fishing harbor and reached the end which had some clearing. Took the following pic and was immediatly warned by curious onlookers about cops strict on photographing at harbor.
Lot of fishing boats.
Fresh fish any one?
The busy fish market.
Finally dared to stop and take a pic here with a thousand eyes peering at me. This was like a railway platform with gowdons on the let and boats dumping their fish on the right and i rode through it !
Finally near the exit i dared to stop and for my poser bike. Not that people was threatning or anything but just felt very out of place.
Now i ask around the meandering streets to atleast get to port gate. Went into harbor activity roads where they transport coal to the ships. Since it trucks leave behind coal dust the roads are watered to avoide coal dust on the road and once when a trucked passed me was generous enough to splash a haze of coal water all over me. Lucky i had my visor closed. cos in one second it felt like day light to twilight :d
Rode quite some time in the port areas searching for the elusive port gate. Rode along the truks ferrying coal from factory to port. Finally found the port gate and as expected i wasnt allowed. Photography was a strict no no else they might seize the cam. Thought not to waste time trying to get the pass and Gathered info regarding how to visit the near by mountains Yarada overlooking the port. There were two ways one have to park my bike and catch a boat to cross a cannal. Or ride long way by ride. Well no prices of guessing which way i took. But before that i was very tired and wanted to catch some air. The heat bearing down on me was thinking of going to the room and resting.
But after a tender coconut gupl decided to scala Yarada konda. Which was to be a good 30 mins and away. Went into to city to ride around the port water water inlets. Today went through non posh areas of vizag and guess ever city will have to faces.
Coal factory. the conveyer belts streched KMs.
Reached the base of yarada konda and some hill climbing time now. Even had an off road session.
Then a beautiful road went to the right. without knowing where it went just took. A few kms were absalutely mind blowing along the mountains and the isolation was toog. Spent quite some time there.
Then got back on my way to the Yarada beach. Came to know the beach has restraunt so be it. Me posing with yarada beach at back ground.
On the beach restraunt for lunch.
Man i need to learn posing :(
Yarada beach.
On my way back from yarada hills catch bird's eye view of the port.
Back in vizag after port side exploration. Couple of noon sea clicks and some rest before exploring north of vizag.
My humble room on the right.
The Kursuru submarine which is now a museam. Plan to vist at the end of the day.
Rishikonda beach which heard of. It was quite crouded. Could see the other side of the beach pretty isolated. But was too tired to do the walking so got back on the road to see other places.
Awesome palm beach road spanning more then 30 kms along the beach.
View from top of RamaNaidu film studio.
The sun btw...
But i was innocent :(
After quite some riding around pix from top of kailashgiri overlooking the city.
It was amazing the ppl get to view this for evening hangouts.
Now the beach road which i was raving about...
Submarine Kursuru is the last visit for the day. Got a nice tour of the inside.
The engine room
Torpeedo bay.
Wow looks like i am done with vizag and felt accomplishment. But also wondered y was i in such a hurry all day!
